Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a highly accurate measurement of dynamic characteristics of a single antifriction bearing handily under a practical condition. CONSTITUTION:A bearing 1 to be measured is mounted on the body fixed side of an air bearing spindle 2. The outside diameter of the outer race thereof is guided on the inside diameter of a housing 6 and a preload is given from the undersurface of the outer race through a probe holder 7. The top surface of the inner race thereof buts the lower end of a shaft 2a of an air bearing spindle 2 given a driving force force through a belt from a variable speed motor 3. The inner race of the bearing 1 is rotated with the motor 3 and the radial and thrust-wise dynamic oscillation of the bearing 1 and the rate, acceleration and vibration thereof are measured with a non-contact displacement gauge probe 4 and a vibrometer pick up 5. A holder 7 can move vertically with ease by a lever mechanism.
