Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain desired cooling rate and cooling end point temp. through controlling of only the shutoff valves by providing the shutoff valves to supply pipes for refrigerant to be injected from nozzles for cooling a material to be cooled, determining effective cooling length, the number of nozzles, and refrigerant density, and turning nozzles on which are provided uniformly and dispersedly. CONSTITUTION:Shutoff valves 32, 34... are provided to water supply pipes 22, 24... to nozzles 12... for cooling a strip 10 by injecting gas and water. Effective cooling length le is determined by the equationI(Ti, To: inlet and outlet side temps. of the trip 10, CR: cooling rate: V: transfer speed of the strip 10), and the number of nozzles (n) by the equation II (leo: the effective cooling lenght per nozzle).
