Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of regenerating output and to suppress the power consumption, by supplying the output voltage from a rectifier and the high output voltage from an oscillator to a gas laser tube as a discharge starting voltage, and making the output voltage of the rectifier to be a discharge keeping voltage after starting. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted by the rectifier 13, a current regulator 15 the oscillator 20, a switching circuit 25, and a current detector 30. The output voltage of the rectifier caused by turning ON a power source and the high output voltage obtained by stepping up and rectifying the output voltage the oscillator are supplied to the gas laser tube 1 as the discharge starting voltage. After the starting of the laser tube, the output voltage from the rectifier is supplied to the gas laser tube as the discharge keeping voltage. In this constitution, the device, wherein the power consumption is reduced to 1/2 or less and the degradation of the regenerated output can be prevented, and which is useful for optical disk reproducing devices, can be obtained.
