Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the insulation diagnosis for stator coils by parting electrically the low resistance corona shielding layers of the stator coil of a high voltage revolving electric machine in a prescribed part, and diagnosing the insulation. CONSTITUTION:Cut grooves 7 are made in the low resistance corona shielding layers 6 in the coil end part projecting to the outside from the slot 2 of the iron core 1 of a stator coil 3, over the entire circumference of the coil 3, to insulate the shielding layers 6 of the part in the slot 2 and the shielding layers 6-a, 6-b in the coil end parts of the outside of the slot 2 electrically. Hence, with only the layers 6-a and 6-b of the parts reaching the involute part from the coil end part as an electrode on the low voltage side, the insulation characteristics of the main insultion layers with respect to the electrode on the low voltage side are measured.
