Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain high airtightness, pressure resistance and thrust resistance by reducing diameter of the tip of a tube to be joined which is inserted into a joint fitting having a ring-shaped bulge provided with an O-ring, and fixing the joint fitting and the tube to be joined by forming several recessed parts.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a socket type joint fitting 1 is thin and made of stainless steel, and an expanded part 4 is formed at the end of main part 3 having nearly equal diameter with the tube 2 through an annular bulge 5 of semicircular section. The inner diameter of the expanded part 4 is a little larger than the outer diameter of the tube 2. To join the tubes 2, 2 by a fitting 1, an airtight material 6 such as an O-ring is inserted from the expanded part 4 and fitted to the bulge 5. Next, when the tube 2 the tip of which is reduced to tapered part 7 is inserted into the expanded part 4, the tapered part 7 comes into contact with the airtight material 6 and pushes it outward to the bulge 5 to adhere closely and positoned. At this time, the side of the airtight material 6 is not damaged since there is a tapered part 7 at the tip of the tube 2. finally, the outer circumference of the expanded part 4 is pressed strongly with press tools 8, 9 to form several recessed part 10 that cut into the tube 2 and fixed.
