Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable correction to uniform thickness even if variation in thickness is large in drawing type spinning by giving specified bending moment to a thin tube immediately after forming according to variation in thickness in cross section of a work.
CONSTITUTION: A work 13 is rotated in a body with a mandrel 14 and drawn while being pressed by a roll 15. The thickness variation axis and the part of maximum thickness in the section at right angles to the mandrel axis of a thin tube 20 immediately after forming are detected by a thickness meter 31. In the case where the longitudinal direction of a groove 22 is parallel to the direction connecting the mandrel axis 14 and the part of maximum thickness, for instance, the upper end of tube 20 is the part of maximum thickness, a spindle 21 is rotated by a controller against the mandrel 14 so that the groove 22 extends downward in the figure. On the other hand, movement of connecting member 23 is controlled by retreat of a key member 29 to the right so that a chuck 18 is made eccentric to the opposite side to the part 32 by an amount corresponding to width of variation in thickness. Thus, bending moment is given to the tube 20, and the amount of cutting of the roll 15 to the work-piece 13 is changed to eliminate the width of variation in thickness.
