Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the viscosity of a creamy solution of yeast and to concentrate yeast easily, by using a waste liquor of sulfite pulp as a medium and by cultivating Candida Utilis continuously while the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the medium being maintained at a specific value by ventilation.
CONSTITUTION: In cultivating Candida Utilis continuously by Waldhof fermentor using a waste liquor of digesting occurring from the process for preparing sulfite pulp as a medium, an oxygen gas alone or a mixed gas of oxygen and air is introduced to the medium in such a way that the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the medium of continuous cultivation is maintained at 3W20ppm.
