Abstract
PURPOSE:To successfully convert an already-built petroleum tank into a low- temperature tank, by partly disassembling the already-built petroleum tank to reduce the cost of disassembly and effectively utilize the already-built tank. CONSTITUTION:In a first process, the body 3 of a tank for storing room- temperature liquid such as petroleum is removed of roof to provide a bottomed cylinder 6 open at its top. The cylinder 6 is to be used as a body which constitutes the outer shell 11 of a low-temperature tank of double shells. In a second process, concrete 12 is placed in the cylinder 6 at its bottom, a heater 13 is provided in the concrete 12 and a coldness retaining board 7 is made of perlite concrete or the like. In a third process, an inner shell 8 for storing low-temperature liquid is provided on the board 7. In a forth process, a roof 10 is provided on the open top of the cylinder 6. An already-built petroleum tank can thus be converted into a low-temperature tank.
