Abstract
PURPOSE: To form an oxide film on the Al of a hoop without eroding the constituent metals of the hoop by preparing an alkali electrolytic soln. consisting of an alkali metallic or alkaline earth metallic hydroxide, a polyol of a fluoride, and an org. acid, an inorg. acid or salts thereof and by carrying out electrolytic treatment in the soln.
CONSTITUTION: An alkali electrolytic bath consisting of an alkali metallic or alkaline earth metallic hydroxide such as NaOH, KOH or Mg(OH)2, a polyol such as ethylene glycol or glycerol or a fluoride such as NaF or KF, and an org. acid such as salicylic acid, tartaric acid or malic acid, an inorg. acid such as sulfuric acid, metaphosphoric acid or phosphoric acid, or salts thereof is prepared. A hoop of a composite material consisting of Al or an Al alloy and a different metal is electrolytically treated in the electrolytic bath.
