Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an effective operation even with a line feed command of a line printer (LP) which is not supported in terms of system, by providing a conversion table to a main memory device to realize an optional layout of the print lines for the LP. CONSTITUTION:A CPU receives on-line control via a transmission line LL and is connected to a main memory MM. At the same time, the CPU can control an LP via a channel CH. A conversion table CTB is provided in the MM, and a code CT attached at the head of 136 bytes of a data transmitted to the CPU is e.g. two bytes. In such case, the code CT is converted into a print controlling word CC of a byte. In other words, a system is set up, and a conversion table is set by the CPU and based on the environmental difinition given before start of a program. The table CTB is referred to when the CPU detects an arrival of the data. Thus an optional layout is possible for the print line.
