Abstract

PURPOSE:To print a failure mark on a space of an output paper, if an error takes place in the information output from a buffer to a printer, by converting a character code transmitted from a central processor into a character pattern, and editing it on a page buffer. CONSTITUTION:A character code transmitted from a central processor 1 accesses a character pattern memory 12 as direct character pattern address at a printer controlling circuit 11 and edits and stores the character pattern on a page buffer 13. When the editing equivalent to one page is finished, a buffer output instruction is made by the controlling circuit 11 to a print circuit 14. The print circuit 14 fetches the content of the buffer 13 and gives an output to the printer 3, but if an error takes place in the output of the content of the buffer 13, an error report is made to the controlling circuit 11 through an error report line 19 at the time of error generation, on end report is made, and an output failure mark data generating circuit 15 outputs an error mark data and produces it on the print circiut 14 through the line 22 and the printer 3 prints the failure mark on the end of paper.
