Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the alcohol blending ratio ragardless of the effects of temperature changes by forming one of a pair of electrodes which detects the alcohol blending ratio based on electrostatic capacity by a bimetal which is operated in response to fuel temperature. CONSTITUTION:An external electrode 3 has an inlet port 4 and an outlet port 5 for alcohol blended gasoline fuel and comprises a metalic cylindrical member. A vertical internal electrode 7 is provided on a base board 6 in the electrode 3. Said internal electrode 7 has bimetal structure which is composed by sticking metal plates 7a and 7b having different temperature expansion coefficients. The expansion coefficient of the metal plates 7a and 7b are set so that the electrode 7 is expanded and the curvature of the internal electrode 7 is increased due to said bimetal structure when the temperature is increased, and the electrode is contracted inward when the temperature is decreased. Since a gap (d) between the outer electrode 3 and the inner electrode 7 is varied in response to the fuel temperature, the electrostatic capacity can be detected regardless of the effect of the temperature changes.
