Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ignition coil having excellent voltage resistance by engaging axial projection of a secondary coil bobbin and a case end with annular projections formed at both ends of a primary coil bobbin, contacting the radial projection of the secondary coil bobbin with the inner surface of the case and filling epoxy resin in the gap. CONSTITUTION:Annular projections 2, 3 are formed at both ends of a primary coil bobbin 1 made of synthetic resin inserted into a core 20 at the central hole, and a primary coil is wound therebetween. The axial projection 11 of a secondary coil bobbin 5 and the end of a case 12 are engaged with the projections 2, 3. The bobbin 5 of synthetic resin has a collar 6 and an annular groove 7, a secondary coil 8 is continuously wound in the groove 7, and a lead wire 12 is connected through a high voltage terminal 18 to the other groove 10. The projections 11 at both ends of the bobbin 5 facilitate the flow of epoxy resin 14, and the projections 2, 3 of the bobbins 1, 5 are engaged with the projection 11 to secure the insulating gap between the bobbins. The projection 9 of the bobbin 5 facilitates the flow of the resin 14. With this construction, the respective parts can be effectively connected, the epoxy resin is sufficiently immersed, and an ingition coil having good voltage resistance can be obtained.
