Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform stable emulsification with fine particles of high concn. by providing a flow passage for liquid to be emulsified at the center of an electrostrictive type ultrasonic vibrator, supplying liquid thereto and applying ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION:A metallic block 6 of a hollow cylindrical shape of the outside and inside diameter made equal to those of electrostrictive elements 2, 3 of an annular plate shape is put in abutment on one side of an ultrasonic vibrator 5 consisting of said elements 2, 3 and an electrode 4, and a metallic block 8 having axial length larger than that of the block 6 and provided with a liquid flow passage 7 at the center is put in abutment on the element 2 on the other side. The blocks 6, 8 and the vibrator 5 are coupled by means of a hollow screw 11, and a capillary 12 is inserted through this screw 11 down into the half of the passage 7. The passage is provided at the center in this way and the liquid is supplied thereto and ultrasonic waves are applied; therefore the stable emulsification is carried out, and fine particles are obtained in high concn.
