Abstract
PURPOSE: A synthetic resin material with excellent light transmission and heat insulating property useful for an agricultural film material, etc., which is obtd. by the addition of a borosilicate glass powder to a transparent synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: Borosilicate glass is incorporated in a transparent synthetic resin. Said borosilicate glass is a glass primarily consisting of silicon dioxide and boron oxide and contg. 10W80mol% silicon oxide, 5W50mol% boron oxide, 1W30mol% aluminum oxide and/or zinc oxide, and 1W60mol% alkali metal and alkaline earth metal. Where the boron oxide chiefly serves to widen the range of IR ray absorbed and to embrittle the glass so as to be easily crushed but deteriorates water resistance in an excess amt. The aluminum oxide and zinc oxide serve to enhance water resistance and to further widen the range of IR ray absorbed, but harden the glass, making it difficultly crushable.
