Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a fine multi-step frequency generating function, by a method wherein a six-phase transformer and two-way control rectifying elements which are connected to the corresponding phases of the transformer are inserted between a source and a three-phase induction motor and each element is switch-controlled by a specified method. CONSTITUTION:A transformer 2 which converts three-phase into six-phase and two-way control rectifying elements THU-THW, THU1-THW1 which have prescribed relations to the corresponding phase windings of the transformer 2 are connected between a source 1 and a three-phase induction motor 4. Switching is made between the elements such as THU and THU1 at every period of no half-waves of the source. The switching is repeated K-1 times and at the K-th time the switching is made at the period of n0+ or -1 half-waves of the source and an output is generated so that the frequency of 1/(n0+ or -1/K) times of the source frequency is obtained. Thus the fine multi-step frequency generating function is obtained, so that the multi-step speed driving or the continuous variable speed driving at the speed less than a half of the synchronous speed can be made possible.
