Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducing stylus having a long lifetime and the mass productivity for an electromagnetic capacitance type video disk, by forming a wear resistant thin film made of BN, etc. on a substrate of the reproducing stylus and then an electrode on the thin film and accordingly eliminating the mechanical grinding process. CONSTITUTION:A thin film 6 excellent in the wear resistance which is made of one of BN, SiC and diamond is formed on a support substrate 5 made of glass, etc. The wear resistance is held by the film 6 itself for a reproducing stylus. Then an electrode 8 is formed lengthwise on the film 6. In such a way, the greater part of the manufacturing process can be carried out in the same way as the process for the wafer in the producing process of an IC. As a result, the mechanical grinding process can be eliminated to increase the yield. In such a way, a reproducing stylus having a long lifetime and high mass productivity can be obtained for an electrostatic capacitance type video disk.
