Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an alarm for prevention of stranding, by comparing stored information of water depth marine chart with a future position of a ship estimated from data of depth of water, azimuth and ship speed obtained from a measuring device. CONSTITUTION:Water depth marine chart information is stored in a stroed device 3 and a value of draft is inputted from an input device 2. The position of ship is obtained based on the water depth marine chart information stored in an operating device 1 from the azimuth data and water depth data of an azimuth measuring device 6 and a depth sounder 8, and a ship future position is estimated from this ship position data, ship speed data from a measuring device 7, and the azimuth data from the azimuth measuring device 6. If it is compared with the water depth marine chart information and there is a danger of stranding, an alarm device 5 is driven, equiwater depth chart is deisplayed from the water depth marine chart information on a display 4 and a detour is displayed. Thus, the safety of navigation in a narrow channal and a bay can be assured and the principle can be applied to the automation of navigation.
