Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to freatly increase the capacity of a heat exchanger of heat pipe type, by a method wherein constituents to exchange heat is compact.
CONSTITUTION: The casing 3 of a heat exchanger is divided into the upper and the lower compartments 5 and 4 by a parting wall 2 stretching horizontally, the heated fluid is flowed into the upper compartment 5, and the heating fluid into the lower compartment 4. A number of heat pipe 1a of comparatively small in diameter are extendedly provided to the insides of both upper and the lower compartments 5 and 4, passing through a parting wall 2, and to these heat pipes 1a, plate fins 1b, stretching to the direction along the flows of the heated and the heating fluids, are fixed. When the heating fluid of high temperature flows into the lower compartment 4, heat is transferred to the heat exchanging constituent, consisted of heat pipes with fin plates, forming a plurality of flow path. The heat is transferred to the upper compartment 5, passing through the inside of heat pipes 1a, and in this part, the heat is transferred to the heated fluid. With such a structure, the heat exchanger in question can be made very compact, easily connected and arranged, and transferring ability of heat is increased.
