Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liq. crystal display device with high aging resistance while maintaining high productivity by forming an orienting film of a reaction product of chelate-contg. titanic acid ester with epoxy resin on a plastic substrate. CONSTITUTION:An orienting film contg. a reaction product of chelate-contg. titanic acid ester with epoxy resin s a principal component is formed on a plastic substrate having an electrically conductive transparent film. Linear polyamide may be added besides said epoxy resin, and by adding linear polyamide, gelling is caused more hardly. The contained chelate controls hydrolysis suitably and allows the reaction with the epoxy resin to proceed well until the film is formed. The chelate-contg. titanic acid ester includes di-i-propoxy-bis(acetylacetonate).
