Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin lens with a high refractive index and superior weather, light, heat and burning resistances by radically copplymerizing a liq. monomer mixture contg. specified 3 kinds of monomers and an ultraviolet absorber and molding the copolymer into a lens. CONSTITUTION:A liq. monomer mixture contg. 9-80pts.wt. monomer represented by formula I (where X is halogen except F or H), 20-80pts.wt. monomer represented by formula II (where Y is halogen except F; R is H or methyl; m is 1 or 2; and n is 0-3), 1-80pts.wt. monomer represented by formula III and 0.01- 20pts.wt. ultraviolet absorber is radically copolymerized. The compound of formula I includes o-chlorostyrene and styrene, the compound of formula II includes 2,2- bis(4-methacryloyloxyethoxy-3,5-dibromophenyl)propane, and the compound of formula III includes allyl cinnamate.
