Abstract

PURPOSE:To sense blocks existing near a vehicle, by comparing a time difference between an oscillated pulse and a received pulse. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator and a receiver for ultrsonic pulses are provided, and a time difference between oscillated time and received time is detected by use of a time difference detecting circuit. For example, an ultrasonic pulse is generated from an oscillator 4, and after being received with a receiver 5, the pulse is restricted, shaped and inputted to OR gate 11. On the other hand, the oscillated pulse is delayed by means of a delay circuit 10 by time corresponding to a detected distance, and is inputted to the other terminal of the OR gate 11. And, said gate is set at a leading edge of the oscillated pulse by means of a flip-flop 12, and is reset at a leading edge of the pulse from the delay circuit 10 or a waveform shaper 9, and further the output period is detected with a detecting circuit 13 for indicating on an indicator 14. Hereby, when blocks exist in places outside prescribed ranges, an indication of no blocks is performed by the action of the delay circuit 10.
