Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the usage efficiency of transmission line without a guard band, by performing branch coupling of signal through the use of an optical passive component, performing reproduction and relaying of the signal and making the branch coupling of signals and delay time equal to the reproduction of signals from other stations. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal given to branch coupling type stations 13, 14 from an optical transmission line 3 is branched at 15 into a photoelectrical converting means O/E 8 of an optical pulse transmitting means 18 and a delay means 17. If the optical signal discriminated by the O/E 8 is a signal for the station itself, it is fetched to a line connection controlling section CSC11 and transmitted to a terminal 4, and if it is a signal for other stations, it is transmitted again to the optical transmitting line 3 via the electrooptic converting means E/O 9 and an optical coupling means 16. On the other hand, an optical signal given to the delay means 17 is delayed so that the signal for other stations is reproduced and it is equal to the delay time caused by the E/O 9, and coupled at 16 with the signal for other stations and transmitted to the optical transmission line 3. Thus, no guard band between burst signals is necessary.
