Abstract
PURPOSE:To input the output of the frequency divider in the preceding stage to the frequency divider in the succeeding stage directly, by providing a voltage limiting element between the power supply terminal of the frequency divider and a power source in the frequency dividing circuit where 1/2 frequency dividers using differential ECLs are cascaded. CONSTITUTION:Power supply terminals of a master flip flop 13 and a slave flip flop 14 of a 1/2 frequency divider A are connected to a power source VCC through a diode D1. Consequently, in respect to the level of a clock CK applied to a 1/2 frequency divider B in the next stage, the high level is VCC-VD. VD corresponds to voltage drop of the diode D1. At this time, the collector potential of a transistor Q23 becomes VCC-VBE. VBE is the voltage between bases and a emitters of transistors Q17 and Q18. If VD VBE is true, the transistor Q23 is not saturated, and the output of the circuit A is supplied to the input of the circuit B directly.
