Abstract
1279274 Transistor oscillators HAMILTON WATCH CO 21 Aug 1969 [16 Oct 1968] 41857/69 Heading H3T [Also in Division G3] An electronic frequency standard for use in driving a watch (see Division G3) comprises a free-running multivibrator (Fig. 2) which includes two pairs 20, 22 of metal oxide semiconductor transistors. Each pair comprises one N-type and one P-type transistor, the former being non-conducting when the latter is conducting and vice versa. The circuit produces complementary, square wave outputs F and F at a frequency dependent on the values of a resistor 70 and a capacitor 68. The outputs F and F are fed to a frequency divider comprising a chain of identical stages each of which divides the frequencies of its two inputs by two until a signal having a frequency of one Hz is obtained. Each stage (Fig. 5) consists of logic pairs 106, 124, 144, 146 of metal oxide semi-conductor transistors and pairs 78, 92, 140, 142 of similar transistors which provide feedback connections between logic pairs. Integrated circuit construction is employed.
