Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide uniformity of a phosphor layer by connecting a bowl-type curved surface on which a phosphor screen is formed to one end of a pipe-type cylindrical tube whose ends are opened, forming a conductive film inside the cylindrical tube, and sealing a stem which supports an electron gun on the other end of the cylindrical tube. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a bowl-type curved surface 22 with a transparent face section 9 is cleaned and a phosphor layer 10 is formed on the inner side of the bowl-type curved surface 22. A filming coat 18 is formed on the surface of this phosphor layer 10 and a metal back layer 11 is vacuum-deposited. The filming coat 18 is thermally decomposed and removed, and a phosphor screen 17 is formed. Then a cylindrical tube 24 whose ends are opened is connected to the bowl-type curved surface 22 and an inner conductive tag 12 is formed on the inner surfaces of the bowl-type curved surface and of the cylindrical tube 24. Discharge is performed after a stem 20 which supports a flat beam type electron gun 13 is connected to the open end of the cylindrical tube 24. This process facilitates the formaton of a phosphor screen and provides uniformity of a phosphor layer.
