Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent decrease in operation performance of a vehicle, by imitating an output value of an intake air temperature sensor to a specific value and performing correction of intake air temperature in case of detecting abnormal action of the intake air temperature sensor.
CONSTITUTION: If abnormaliry is caused in at least one of the intake air temperature TI sensor and its wire connection, an output digital value of the TI sensor becomes OO16 or FF16. While in the address of an ROM47 corresponding to the output digital value OO16 or FF16 of an A/D converter 39, there is stored mass correction coefficient ra equivalent to predetermined specific temperature within a normal change range of the TI. Accordingly, at occurrence of a fault in the TI sensor, a similar manner of fuel injection is performed to that in case of the atmospheric temperature being specific temperature. In this way, reasonable operation of an engine can be ensured.
