Abstract
PURPOSE: To make production of a large volume of a stable ultrafine particulate dispersion in the form of emulsion or suspension possible by rotating a rotor provided with multiple hard wirelike projections at high speeds.
CONSTITUTION: As a device for forming a dispersion, a rotor 3 provided with multiple slender hard wirelike projections 9 having decreasing resistance in liquid is arranged longitudinally on the inside circumferential wall of a sealed casing 2 of a bottomed cylindrical shape. Therefore, the dispersion medium and dispersoid introduced through a dispersion medium lead-in pipe 5 and a dispersoid lead-in pipe 7 are agitated and mixed by the rotor 3 revolving at high speeds; hence, cavitation is created in the liquid near the trailing end in the moving direction of the projections 9 and the dispersoid is dispersed to an ultrafine particulate shape, whereby the stable dispersion is obtained, and is discharged continuously in a large volume from a discharge pipe 6 by the revolutions. When the dispersion medium is heavy oil and the dispersoid is water, the efficiency of heavy oil combustion is improved by the explosive force of the ultrafine water particles and this contributes to the saving of the heavy oil and the decrease in the contaminating materials in waste gases.
