Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide structure having high reliability, of laser welded joint with simpler pretreatment in laser welding of fine wires by welding with a spherical shaped end part of, at least, one wire which is so formed that the diameter of said end part is made larger than that of wire through irradiating laser beam. CONSTITUTION:As focus 1' of laser beam axis 1 is focused onto an end part of a wire 2, this end part begins melting and, at the same time, is deformed into the spherical shaped end part 2' of a diameter exceeding that of the wire due to the surface tension of melt. The size of the part 2' can be prepared through carrying out irradiation repeatedly with the wire being moved by inching. For example, in the case in which the wires 2, 3 are placed in parallel and are welded at the end parts of both wires, the end parts of both are made to deform into the spherical shaped end part 2', 3' respectively. Then the end part 2', 3' are brought into contact with each other as the wires 2' 3 are put side by side, thereby, the prescribed irradiation is carried out with the focus 1' of the laser beam axis 1 focused at this contacting point. Thus, the end parts 2' and 3' are fused, then a welding joint 4 made of the common spherical shaped end parts is formed.
