Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform complete combustion of fuel oil of a low quality by providing a mixing chamber at the tip end of a vibration expanding horn and supplying the fuel oil and water to said mixing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A mixing chamber 15 leading to an atomizing surface 17 is provided at the tip end of a vibration expanding horn 4 whose tip end to which a vibrator 1 is connected, is used as the atomizing surface 17, and fuel oil and water are supplied to the mixing chamber 15. In the mixing chamber 15, fuel oil and water are vigorously mixed and emulsified by the stirring operation due to ultrasonic vibration. Accordingly, in the mixing chamber, the fuel is emulsified immediately before atomizing the fuel, and hence there is no need to use beforehand a special emulsifier or a special surface active agent for stably preserving emulsifed fuel. Further, in order to burn the emulsified fuel oil, the atomizd fuel is pulverized futher by micro explosion due to the boiling pressure of wate and the mixing of ambient gas is accelerated, thereby improving the combustion efficiency and preventing discharge of detrimental substances such as soots, CO and the like.
