Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a coating composition for powder-developing electrophotographic marking, giving a shop primer layer having excellent conductivity and rust- preventing properties, by adding a specific amount of conductive zinc oxide to a base composition composed mainly of a higher electrical insulating synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding (A) a synthetic resin for coating use, composed mainly of a highly electrical insulating synthetic resin (e.g. polyvinyl butyral resin, epoxy resin, etc.) with (B) 0.5W 30wt% of an electrically conductive zinc oxide (pref. a calcined zinc oxide mixture composed of 100mol of zinc oxide and 0.001W10mol of an oxide of a 3- or 4-valent metal having smaller ionic radius than zinc, e.g. Al, Ga, In, Fe, etc.).
EFFECT: Excellent in the powder-developing electrophotographic markinng characteristics (e.g. acutance of the image, and the fog of the photoconductive powder).
