Abstract
PURPOSE: To form the double coating films of superior filiform rust resistance and chipping resistance by electrodeposition coating the paint of high corrosion resistance type compounded composition on the surfaces of steel plates and performing electrodeposition coating of an ordinary low pigment concentration while this paint has not yet hardened.
CONSTITUTION: The paint of the following composition is used as electrodeposition paint and the first electrodeposition coating is accomplished. The coating composed of conductive powder such as graphite, carbon black, etc,; 4 to 40pts.wt., coloring pigments such as iron oxide red, titanium oxide, etc., fillers such as calcium carbonate, baryta, etc.; 50 to 200pts.wt., antirust pigments such as zinc chromate, strontium chromate, etc.; 5 to 20pts.wt. and resin component; 100pts. wt. is electrodeposition coated. The specific volume resistivity of this coating film has the value of 1×107 to 1×1012Ω.cm at 29°C, 20V. While this paint has not hardened, the paint of the same composition is electrodeposition coated. The steel plate of superior corrosion resistances such as filiform rust resistance, chipping resistance, etc. for automobiles and household electrical appliances is obtained.
