Abstract
PURPOSE:To analyze the gas accumulated in a battery quickly without leakage by providing a means of breaking the battery in a hermetic state to a case containing the battery, and conducting the released gas to an analyzer. CONSTITUTION:After a battery 3 for inspection is inserted into a containing part 4 of a case 1, a cap 2 is put on and is screwed by screw threads 9, whereby the case is hermetically closed. Next, the gas outflow port 7 of the case 1 is connected to a gas analyzer, and the inside of the case 1 is pulled to a vacuum. In the vacuum state, a drill 11 is gradually lowered by turning a handle 12 to break the upper part of the battery 3 and to release the gas accumulated in the battery. The released gas is conducted from the space part 6 pulled to a vacuum into the gas analyzer through the port 7, and the gas is analyzed of components there. Since the gas released upon breaking of the battery is sucked to the gas analyzer, the leakage of the gas is prevented and the accurate analysis is accomplished.
