Abstract

1527003 Smoke detection test device UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 18 Oct 1977 [19 Oct 1976] 43360/76 Heading G1B A device for use in testing a smoke detector comprises nebulizer for producing an aerosol, means 15, 17 for introducing into the nebulizer compressed gas and a liquid 16 such as dioctyl phthalate to be nebulized, impactor 12 which may comprise metal balls 13 trapped between wire gauges 14 for removing large droplets from the aerosol, extraction means 22, 23, 24 for removing a proportion of the aerosol from the stream leaving impactor 12 and means for introducing the remainder of the aerosol into a gas stream in line 19 which in use leads to the smoke detector.
