Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composite fibers, consisting of a polyester containing a block polyether-amide locally as a core part and a polyester containing terephthalic acid of an acid component containing inert inorganic fine particles as a sheath part, and having improved gloss, coloring property and abrasion characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: Composite fibers consisting of (A) a mixture prepared by incorporating a polyalkylene ether in a block polyether-amide at a ratio between the polyalkylene ether and the total fibers of 0.05W5wt% as a core part and (B) a polyester consisting of fine inorganic particles containing silicon, e.g. silicon exide, fine particles consisting of an oxide of a metal selected from Group II in the periodic table and/or a salt thereof, e.g. calcium carbonate, and inert fine inorganic particles having an average primary particle diameter ≤5μ, e.g. aluminum oxide hydrate, in an amount of 0.1W4wt% and at least 70mol% terephthalic acid in the total acid component as a sheath part.
