Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a molded body excellent in dimensional accuracy at a high workability by a method wherein the titled tubular body having a wide annular recess is molded by using a mold in which splittable molds for molding the annular recess consisting of facing layers of an elastic material and core members are fitted on the main body of a core mold.
CONSTITUTION: The main body 1, 1' of the core mold is assembled on a shaft 4 by fasteners 5, 5' so that notches 111, 111' are engaged with each other. The axially split molds 2, 2' for molding the annular recess which have core members 22a, 22b, 22c, 22a', 22b', 22c' fitted in the elastic surface layers 21a, 21b, 21c, 21a', 21b', 21c' are fixed to the main bodies 1, 1', together with molds 3, 3' for molding an annular groove which have core members 32, 32' fitted in elastic surface layers 31, 31'. Around the thus constructed mold assembly, a reinforced plastic molding material prepared, for example, by impregnating glass fibers with an unsaturated polyester is wound to form a molding material layer. After hardening the molding material layer, the main body 1, 1' of the core is drawn out, followed by sequentially removing the core members and the elastic surface layers to obtain a tubular body of reinforced plastic having a wide recess.
