Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the purging step at the changeover from the regeneration stage to the air-blasting stage, and to heat the recycling gas effectively, by heating the gas exhausted from the top of the briquette coke carbonization oven keeping the excess air ratio of the combustion oven at the initial and the final stages of the regenerating step of the regenerator to a specific level, and recycling the heated gas to the carbonization oven.
CONSTITUTION: The gas 6 exhausted from the top of the briquette coke carbonization oven is heated in the regenerators 1 and 2 having alternating regeneration step and air-blast step, and recycled to the carbonization oven. In the above process, the combustion gas obtained from the combustion oven 3 is sent alternately to two regenerators 1 and 2, the recycling oven top gas generated by repeating the regeneration step 10 and the air-blast step 9 is supplied to the carbonization oven, and the regenerator-heating gas is regulated by adjusting the excess air ratio to ≤1.0 in the feeding of the fuel and air to the combustion oven 3 to prevent the explosion at the initial and the final stages of the regenerating step of the regenerator.
EFFECT: The process eliminates the purging gas facilities, decreases the heat loss, reduces the cost, lowers the thermal load, and elongates the life of the oven.
