Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a container having its corners positively sealed, by sealing plastic layers using a receiving table and ultrasonic waves projecting horns having an end shape adapted to the angle of corners of a polygon.
CONSTITUTION: The container body 1 having a square shape in cross section has a paper layer 2 to the inside of which a heat-sealable plastic component, that is, a bottom member 4 is fitted. A pair of the upper and lower ultrasonic waves projecting horns 5A, 5A with their recessed corners having an interior angle 90° are together with the receiving table 6 in contact with the corners 11, 13 and adjacent parts thereto to be sealed. When ultrasonic energy is applied to the projecting horns 5A, 5A, the upper and lower corners 11, 13 and the sides adjacent thereto are heat- sealed as indicated at 21, 23. Then the other projecting horns 5B, 5B are caused to be in contact with the right and left corners 12, 14 and parts adjacent thereto to heat-seal them as indicated at 22, 24, so that all the corners and the adjacent sides are positively and integrally sealed.
