Abstract
PURPOSE:To prolong a cell life by impregnating or covering hydrophilic resin into or over nonwoven fabric in order to decrease electric resistance and improve ion permeability. CONSTITUTION:Nonwoven fabric, for example, the nylon system nonwoven fabric of 0.1mm. of thickness and 30g/m<2> of weight, is used for the separator of an alkaline cell. Furthermore, the nonwoven fabric is evenly impregnated or covered with hydrophilic resin. The coating of hydrophilic resin is formed with, for example, the one dispersed 20% titanoxide into 35% water solution of polyacrylic system resin containing styrene and vinyl acetate as co-monomer is evenly sprayed with a spray gun and dried.
