Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly display the correct underwater position by a simple device in measuring the position of an underwater object by converting the pressure of a water pressure meter fixed to the underwater object into an electric signal, transmitting it, demodulating it in a receiving side, and directly obtaining the water depth. CONSTITUTION:The water pressure meter 12 is fixed to the underwater object provided at the position Td. The water pressure P is based on the depth of the pressure meter 12 and sent to a frequency modulator 8 as a divided voltage of a potentiometer 13. The modulator 8 shifts the frequency of a reference frequency generator 7 based on the depth. A signal having a specified time length and repeating cycles is obtained in a gate circuit 9. The output of a power amplifier 11 is sent from a tranmitting part 1' as an ultrasonic wave. The outputs from receivers provided at positions Ta-Tc are sent to a receiving part 2. The distance between each receiver and a transmitting part is sent to an operation processing part 3. The output from at least one receiver is sent to a water depth data demodulator 15. Horizontal positions x and y and a depth z are directly outputted to a display 4 from the outputs of the processing part 3 and demodulator 15.
