Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the strength of the vehicle body frame by placing place the supercharger of an engine among its cylinder block and a right and a left center pipes which constitute a vehicle body frame, supporting the supercharger with a cross member connecting the center pipes to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A supercharger S is placed among a cylinder block 10 and a right and a left center pipes 4, 4 which constitute a vehicle body frame F. Mounting members 25, 25 protruded from the supercharger S and brackets 8, 8 secured on a cross member 9 which couples the center pipes 4, 4 to each other are locked up on each other by a bolt 26 to support the supercharger S. Since potentially dead space behind the cylinder block 10 is utilized to place the supercharger S, it does not project sideward from the vehicle. The center pipes 4, 4 are also reinforced by the cross member 9 to firmly supply the engine as well as the supercharger S. A turbine impeller 19 and a compressor impeller 18 which is coupled therewith are driven by exhaust gas from cylinders 11. Intake air from an air cleaner A is previously pressurized by a compressor C. After the air is regulated by a retrictor valve 24, the air is mixed with fuel injected from a nozzle 23. The mixture is supplied into the cylinders 11.
