Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the divergence due to over-compensation of a TV signal automatic equalizer and to make stable the automatic equalization of waveform, by stopping the operation of waveform equalization, if the voltage level of waveform exceeds a prescribed voltage range in the process of automatic waveform equalization. CONSTITUTION:A test signal in a TV signal is inputted to a transversal filter 12 via an input terminal 11, the output of the filter 12 is inputted to gain adjusting circuits 13(-l)-13m with equal equalizing period, and echo signals according to the equalizing information are produced from each of the circuits 13(-l)-13m. The echo signals are inputted to a sampling circuit 16 and a clock reproduction circuit 16' via a concentrated amplifier 14, and the test signal is sampled at the circuit 16 with the clock from the circuit 16' to be applied to an identification circuit 17, and it is compared with the standard test signal, if there is any distortion in the inputted test signal, a signal is inputted to a shift register 18 via an over-compensation detection circuit 21, allowing to control the circuit to cancel the distortion and the result is stored in a memory 19. The signal is applied to the circuit 13(-l)-13m via integrators 20(-l)-20m to prevent divergence due to the over-compensation.
