Abstract

PURPOSE:To achive a modulation characteristic stable in frequency through a modulation phase loop and less in distortion, by giving a frequemcy modulation to a modulation voltage-controlled oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A reception voltage-controlled oscillator VCO15 of a reception phase locked loop 34, and a modulation VCO21 of a modulation phase locked loop 36 are controlled with a phase difference signal with a signal frequency dividing the signal from a reference oscillator 20. An output signal of the VCO15 is outputted to the 1st local oscillator output terminal 32 for reception and inputted to a mixer 27 of a transmission phase locked loop 35. Frequency modulation is made to the VCO21 with a signal from a modulation input terminal 37, and this output signal is inputted to a phase modulator 29 of the loop 35 by taking it as the reference signal. The output signal of the transmission VCO26 of the loop 35 is inputted to a mixer 27, and a signal mixed with the output signal of the VCO15 and frequency- converted is frequency-divided at 28 and inputted to the comparator 29. In the comparator 29, a phase difference signal between this signal and a signal from the VCO21 is outputted to control the VCO26 via an LPF30, and the VCO26 outputs a modulated transmission wave to a transmission output terminal 33.
