Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily label an antigen or an antibody, by using a cyanine dye which contains substituents including a corboxyl group in the terminal heterocyclic ring as a labelling material to form a cyanine chromophoric group. CONSTITUTION:A cyanine dye contg. substituents including a carboxyl group attached to the atom except nitrogen in the terminal heterocyclic ring of a chromophoric group, is added to insuling and reacted to label the resulting product. The labeled antigen thus obtained is reacted immunochemically, and the reaction product is dropped on the film coated with unexposed AgBrCl, then exposed to the light of wavelength that is absorbed by the dye. After developing this film, it is fixed, washed with water and dried according to the ordinary procedure, then the blackening density on the film is measured by a photographic densitometer. According to this procedure, an antigen or an antibody is easily labeled and the trace of them is detected.
