Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a humidity detector which can perform an accurate humidity detection constantly over a long period of use, by installing a heater adjacently to a humidity-sensitive body made of a given material whose electric resistance responds to humidity. CONSTITUTION:On comb-shaped electrodes 2 and 3 on an alumina substrate 1, a film 4 of Cr2O3 whose electric resistance varies with humidity is formed. Adjacently thereto, a nichrome wire 5 is wound a plural turns so as to surround the film 4 and the substrate 1. Owing to said nichrome wire 5, the Cr2O3 film is heated to a given temperature within a range of 300-1,000 deg.C. Accordingly, there is no deterioration with age over a long period of use, and it is possible to obtain a humidity detector which can perform an accurate detection constantly over a long period of time. In addition, the heater can be provided in the Cr2O3 film.
