An upper bearing 28 is set at the part 27a. As a result, the span between the upper and lower bearings can be increased without increasing the overall height of the cylinder. Thus the thickness of the cylinder can be reduced while securing the space between the necessary bearings. At the same time, the scanning of a tape is possible with high accuracy.
