Abstract

PURPOSE:To save energy and further to offer a DC motor control device of high performance, by a method wherein, in accordance with the fault detection of a thyristor power source device, the rotation energy of a DC motor is regenerated in the other AC power source through a thyristor changer. CONSTITUTION:In case a power source device 2 of a thyristor is out of order in operation, a main control device 5 detects it to turn OFF a contact 6 and turn ON the gate of a thyristor changer 11. By turning ON of the thyristor changer 11, the rotation energy of a DC motor 3 is regenerated into a second AC power source 13 and the velocity reference RFE is compared with the signal from a tachometer generator 4 while from said comparison output the velocity of the DC motor 3 is controlled to control slowing down and stop.
