Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the composition of the whole equipment simpler and smaller, by a method wherein a plurality of thyristor modules which are connected in inverse parallel are ignited by the output power of each of pulse generators which generate arc-ignition pulses, the phase of which differs 180 deg. from each other. CONSTITUTION:Thyristor modules MD1, MD2, MD3, which are composed of thyristors R, L connected in inverse parallel, are connected in U-shape and the thyristors R, L of each mdule are controlled by an output power of a discriminating circuit UT. Each descriminating circuit receives a pulse S1 which is to drive the thyristors of one direction L and a pulse S2 which is to drive thyristors of the opposite direction and the thyristors L or R are driven in accordance with corresponding pulses. A pulse generator PG has output terminals which transmit different pulse serieses B, B which have 180 deg. phase descrepancy from each other. Output power of the pulse series B is put into the clescriminating circuit UT1 and UT3, and output of the pulse series C is put into the descriminating circuit UT2.
