Abstract

PURPOSE:To inspect the operation and functions of an obstacle detector by generating an output signal for a prescribed time after the transmission of an ultrasonic wave, and by displaying the presence of absence of the output by AND operating the signal and the output signal of an ultrasonic wave receiver. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of an ultrasonic receiver 6 is passed through an amplifier 7 and rectified by a rectifying circuit 8. A saturation amplifier 16 performs saturation amplification regarding the outut of the rectifier 8 to generate a pulse output. A monostable multivibrator 15 is triggered at the rise of the output pulse of a pulse oscillator 3 and its output width is set to a time nearly equal to the width of the output waveform of the rectifying circuit 8 corresponding to a direct wave output. Then, the output pulse of the saturation amplifier 16 and that of the monostable multivibrator 15 are AND operated by an AND gate 17 to generate a pulse and only when the pulse is present, a display circuit 18 is turned on. When a fault is occurring to an ultrasonic wave transmitter 1, an oscillator 2, etc., the display circuit 18 is turned off to inspect the operation and functions of an obstacle detector.
