Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the level of an upper roll and prevent the crooked running of an ingot in a pinch roll device part by driving an operating machine which vertically moves the end part of an elevating frame in accordance with the output signal of a level detector detecting the level of the upper roll.
CONSTITUTION: When an upper roll 3 inclines to an arrow X direction owing to the gravity of a connecting rod 8 or disturbance, the output signal of a displacement detector 20 goes larger than the output signal of a displacement detector 21, and a control panel 24 emits an output E2 in accordance with this difference. Therefore, a directional control valve 19 is changed over to a Z direction, and pressurized oil is supplied from an oil hydraulic pump 16 to the piston up side of a hydraulic cylinder 12, then an elevating frame 6 turns in the direction opposite from an X direction. Hence, the roll 3 is maintained at the level of prescribed accuracy.
